🔎 Medium-demanding route through the picturesque Inferna Valley, with remnants of old mining tunnels and alpine forests. The destination is Rifugio Talamini, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Rifugio Talamini is located in the territory of Vodo di Cadore at an altitude of 1,582 meters, in the picturesque Col Botei locality, surrounded by some of the most spectacular peaks of the Dolomites such as Mount Pelmo, Mount Civetta and Mount Antelao. It can be easily reached either from the Zoldo Valley via Zoppè di Cadore, or from the Cadore side starting from Vodo, or from the Cibiana Pass.
Generally open from December to March and June to September, the hut welcomes hikers with typical mountain cuisine, where they can enjoy traditional specialties such as gulash, dumplings, casunziei, grilled cheese, and Ampezzo-style potatoes. It also has a small dormitory with up to six beds, which is ideal for those who want to have an authentic high-altitude experience.
The shelter is dedicated to Gianpietro Talamini (1845-1934), a journalist originally from Vodo di Cadore and founder of the newspaper Il Gazzettino, who was its editor for nearly fifty years
