EXCELLENT LOCATION
In the heart of the Dolomites
In the heart of the Bellunese Dolomites, Cibiana di Cadore is known as the town of murals: a charming mountain village where art, history and traditions are interwoven among quaint alleys, spectacular views and paths immersed in the nature of the Dolomites.

OPEN-AIR MUSEUM
The Murals
In the heart of Cibiana di Cadore lies one of the most fascinating artistic routes in the Dolomites: the famous murals that decorate the village’s houses. Walking through the streets of the village, one can admire dozens of works that tell the story, crafts and traditions of mountain life, transforming Cibiana into a veritable open-air museum.
The murals of Cibiana di Cadore tell the story and identity of the village through images painted on the facades of houses, each linked to the family or tradition of the building on which it stands. Walking through the village streets, one can discover scenes dedicated to ancient mountain trades-such as the blacksmith, the woodsman, the charcoal burner or the seamstress, including the famous mural of “Mary, the seamstress”-as well as moments of daily life, folk traditions and tales passed down through time.
Many works also include symbols related to the history of the village, such as keys, which recall Errebi’s important local handicraft production. Recent works also include the large mosaic “The Stones That Tell,” a work that evokes a historical episode in the area: the passage of imperial troops in the 16th century.
